Walking down Hollywood Blvd. on my visit to LA I came across this old pink car with a box built on top of it with a door that read, 'office.' As I was photographing that door flew open and this guy popped out. He explained to me that he was a local celebrity and that he was living in his car. He said that it was cheaper and he was more mobile that way. He was getting ready to go partying but first he had to fix his water pump...

He was an actor. His headshot was posted in the car window on the side.

a wedding picture

Well, I am not the best wedding photographer. I stress pretty easily and I sweat a lot. I mean really, I sweat a lot. That being said I really like this photograph, it seems to be a good moment where everyone is unaware of me- mostly because my camera was broken a couple of minutes before and they forgot about me, that is another thing about weddings my camera always breaks, but everyone seems to be in their proper place. I especially like Mario's father on the left.

While everyone is talking about the Jeff Wall article in the New York Times, I stumbled upon an older, by a few handfuls, post on Conscientious about this German photographer D. G. Cramer. I am blown away by these quiet landscapes, they have everything I really like about a successful photograph- a deep sense of mood, ambiguity, and a sort of narrative. They are powerfully silent.

Just got back from spending the better part of last week in LA, a city that I thought I was going to hate but loved instead. I have a load of film that I am super excited to develop and as soon as it is I will have the pictures posted. I met some new friends and got to see some old ones while i was there, thanks once again to Lisa and Lian. And, congratulations to my friends Mario and Leanne, they done got hitched and it was beautiful.

viva LA, fuck winter.

for the last handful of years i have been working hard at being the laziest photographer around- i have been photographing myself in my house. i think that i am reaching the end to this project, but we shall see. in the meantime here is an example of the work, i hope you like it.
